Infant Swimming Resource lessons in Sartell, MN

COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT IS ISR?

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is a specialized water safety program designed for children aged 6 months and older. It focuses on teaching essential survival skills, including self-rescue and water safety, in a calm and nurturing environment.

Children can begin lessons at the age of six months ( and independently sitting) through school age.  At the age of six months to 15 months a child learns the essential survival skill of rolling to their back to float and breathe until help arrives.  At the age of 15 months and up, the child learns not only the rollback to float survival skill but also the swim float swim sequence. The purpose of ISR lessons are to equip the child with the necessary survival skills should they ever find water unattended or in an aquatic emergency.

IS MY CHILD READY FOR ISR?

ISR is recommended for children who are at least 6 months old and independently sitting.  In ISR lessons we can accommodate for many different types of personalities, behaviors and special needs.  Please reach out with any chid specific quesitons.

HOW DO I SCHEDULe lessons?

You can schedule your childs initial ISR session or maintenance lessons through my scheduling platform. You can use any of the "schedule now" buttons.  This will bring you to the web accomplice scheduler system.  You can select a date and time that fits your family's routine, and complete the scheduling process.

HOW IS ISR DIFFERENT THAN TRADITIONAL?

ISR lessons are self-rescue focused and skills based.  Lessons are always taught one to one and in a private setting.  The schedule and structure for ISR is different than traditional.  ISR uses sensorimotor learning, which is best accomplished by short and frequent lessons. The student comes to lessons 10 minutes per day, four days per week and for seven weeks in duration.

Students are taught breath control, rollback to float and the swim float swim sequence.  These skills are all mastered within the seven week session.

ARE THERE ANY CANCELLATION POLICIES?

To schedule your child for an initial session a $120 deposit fee is required.  This deposit fee is your first weeks tuition fee.  This deposit is non-refundable.

Are ISR lessons safe?

Yes! Any child that is a potential ISR student will undergo a full medical history and developmental screening.  This is conducted by a team the Registration Evaluation Team.  This team of ISR instructors and Registered Nurses will approve or deny your child for lessons.  They also provide any necessary modifications and protocols for me to follow as their instructor.

As an ISR instructor safety is my top priority.  I follow strict guidelines on how I structure my lessons.
